In Which I Reveal A Winner

Today is the day!

The day I reveal the winners of my first ever contest!

I wrote all the names down on pieces of paper and out them in a hat.

My steampunk hat of course.

But there were too many so I had to change to a bucket.

There were actually 3 winners, but the second name I pulled was Twin's, so she'll be getting her own prize because I said family is exempt for the giftcards.

I wish I had enough money to send a giftcard to everyone who entered. Maybe one day...

And without further ado, the winners are...

AchingHope for the $25 card

and Piedmont Writer for the $15 dollar card.

Congratulations!

Please send me an email at sarah.ahiers@gmail.com with your address and I will send you your giftcards.

Back tomorrow with "normal" posts.

  15. A writing contest!!! That sounds super cool.

@sonshine: I was thinking you'd try to steal it from me. I'm going to have to pay mum to watch the mail like a hawk! Or maybe Dave, since he could prolly wrestle you to the ground...

  16. I love the photos of your draw process.
They were fun. A photo of your steampunk hat overflowing would have only added to the atmosphere.

  18. @Falen: (haha, when I first tried to write your nam eit came out Flane.) But if we fight to the death she will win, because she has bullet proof shoes and knows karate. Alas, alas.

  19. @Palindrome: It's people I "know"!!

Heh. That's what I said too.

Is this bunny-eared hat like the one Molly from Runaways wears?

  20. AchingHope - hmmm that is indeed a tricky situation. Poison her maybe?

Teebore - who is Molly and what is Runaways?

  21. Runaways (which I'm sure I've raved to you about before) is one of the best comics being published right now, and easily the most original and exciting new concept to come from Marvel in the last 15 years. It's one of my favorite comic book runs, which I listed on the blog once upon a time.

The basic premise of the series is "most kids think their parents are evil; what if yours were?"

It involves a group of teenagers who discover that their parents are part of a super-villain team. They "runaway" from home and work together to defeat their parents and atone for their parents' evil.

Molly is the youngest character, a super strong mutant who falls asleep after she uses her power (because it takes so much out of her). She has an affinity for funny hats, including a bunny-eared one. She's one of my favorite character.

You should check it out; almost all of it is available in either trade or hardcover. The single issues have been coming out erratically lately, which just means the reprints have had a chance to catch up. You can borrow mine, if you'd like.

  22. teebore - oh dur. I know runaways and read the first trade i believe. For some reason i though maybe this was some sort of awesome 80s movie i was missing out on.
i don't remember any of the characters though, so i cannot answer as to the matching bunny hat.

I may borrow them from you...

And so they spoke. And it was awesome, covered in sauce.
