In Which I Hit (Another) Conference

Summer is conference season of course! I just attended a Children's and YA conference a few weekends ago, and this weekend I'll be hitting another one.

This one, 4th Street Fantasy, I've been going to for awhile. Well, it seems like a while, but I think this will only be my fourth year. So kind of a while? I dunno.

It's super fun because it's single panel, which mean you don't ever have to worry about what you're missing at other panels.

The writing workshop is on Friday and the last few years it's been awesome so I'm really excited to hit it up on this year.

And then the rest of the weekend will be the regular conference, and once again I'll come away feeling like I'm so behind on reading. I mean, I put in 50-60 books a year, but somehow people have read books I haven't even HEARD of before.

But that's okay! Because it means I come away with a list of books I need to buy (and since I have a kindle, I'll probably buy a few of them right away).

How about you? Attending any conferences this year? If so, which ones?

No conference plans at the moment. That's nice they only have one panel going at a time.

This must be the year of conferences. Nearly all my friends have attended at least one.

I went to an SF con early in the year, but the one I'm really looking forward to is a Doctor Who conference in Dallas.

My conference attendance is lower this year than last ($$). I went to Lori Foster's Reader/Author Get Together. That was a lot of fun and I met some future readers of my work (at least I HOPE so!). My only other jaunt out will be to Dragon*Con. Massive and wonderful!

So jealous. Wish I had conferences at my fingertips like you all do in the US!

Hiya, I missed BEA, which was sinful since I LIVE in NYC! But I did teach at the Philadelphia Writers' Conference a couple of weeks ago, and that was big fun. Love the Philly writers' community. Plus, I got to meet spec author, Jonathan Maberry.

Not attending anything this year. I put all my money in the stock market.

I'd love to go to a conference, at some point. Alas, money, the kidlet and a husband that is rather inept at kidlet watching stops me! ;)

I wish I could go to a conference. But my travel schedule for work doesn't allow it.
