I had a dog once that loved our cat. They would lay together all the time. Unfortunately as she got older she had trouble getting up because of a back injury, and she broke the poor cat's leg in a fouled attempt.
They remained friends, but the cat wouldn't let her sit that close to him after that.
You know, that crushed cat really doesn't look that unhappy.
