In Which I'm Back

Here I am, back from my week long blog hiatus. It was quite awesome, let me tell you and I accomplished a lot of stuff.

Funny Pictures - Business Cat, Meme Cats

Things I got done last week:

1. Read 2 books (Ship Breaker was excellent)
2. Finished watching Veronica Mars (sadface that it's over.)
3. Got a good chunk of reading done on the two manuscripts I'm beta reading
4. Cleaned the house a bit.
5. Heard back from almost all my Beta Readers about Glimpse and have some good ideas for some changes.
6. Drew a picture (it's not done yet)

And that's about it, but that's not bad for a week away from blogging.

I also have to continue working on my "agents to query" list. I've gone through all the agents on agent query that rep both Fantasy and YA, (about 70) and now I'm working my way through the agents that have their genres just listed as YA. There's like another 250 of those.
Needless to say, it's a lot of agents to wade through.

So, how are things with you? Did I miss anything super exciting while I was away?

I had hiatus last week too but I spent the whole time in bed! Flu :o( Glad you got so much done!

That's a productive week indeed. :)

I cannot count the number of times I've watched all 3 seasons of Veronica Mars. But the number is embarrassingly high. I mourn its loss...such a lack of closer in that last season ending. *sigh* Rob Thomas wrote a movie and all the actors were a go, but nobody would fund it. *pouts* In my head, Veronica and Logan get back together and PI together happily ever after.

I'm just getting over the flu...so I didn't do much the last 2 weeks. It lingered in my chest...I'm still hacking up the last of it. Evil Ebola.

Good luck with your agent list-making.
Hugs,
Lola

Sound slike a great week. I started something new and I'm still revising the other. Hopefully, I'll finish something, one day.
I'm in and out of blog hiatus.
Keep going and that picture cracked me up.

Sounds like you had a week full of Win! And glad you got the chance to get caught up on things :) Let's see this weekend...I worked out two and a half chapters. They still need to be critted but 3.5k isn't too bad. AND, I got some doodles done. Then came the chores. Nothing out of the norm.

i'm not too sure about that 'cleaned the house a bit' part

Yay for time off!! I too read a couple of books and checked out some more. There was a ton of family stuff last week but you already know all that...

See you tonight, sucka!

Oh, don't make too many changes on that book. It was so good.

And yeah, I hear you on the house cleaning.

Glad you're back.

Seriously, I want your ability to bend time. What you accomplished in the time it takes you to blog would take me months...

Jessica - boo! Flu hiatus is not as fun.

Lola - i'm with you. I think i'm mostly bummed that it left off with them still broken up

Dan - well, it's not like i neccessarily made goals to accomplish this stuff. It just kind of happened...

Christine - if i still worked in a cubicle (instead of at home) i'd totally hang that pic on my wall

Erica - 2.5 chapters is awesome! i haven't done any "brand new writing" since December. I can't work on more than one thing at a time

Anne - pssha! I swept the dining room - i did dishes - i swept my room. I think all that = "a bit"

Hannah - maybe you should read some of the books you own instead of hitting the library... Jutt saying. WITH LOVE

Anne - less "changes" and more "enhancements". Just developing a few things

Matt - i think from Carolina first, but also you

Jacqueline - ugh. I try and clean the fridge when i go grocery shopping, but it's only semi-successful

Aspiring - clearly we need to have an "artsy" blogfest...

Teebore - well, i watch Veronica Mars on my lunch break. And i stated the picture wasn't done yet...

Yeah, the picture is where the list of what you got done and the list of what I would have gotten done deviated... :)

Let's see... I splashed through puddles, because it rained a lot. Decided to buy a house. Looked at some houses through the windows like a creeper. Ogled a video game character way too closely/often. Possibly searched Google for sexy pictures of said character...(ahem)
Did too many dishes...and wrote a little bit.

Welcome back! It sounds like a very productive week, which is FABULOUS!

Hannah said...

if I don't go to the library, I'll buy books and I've gotten rid of a lot of books in the past few months.

And no one buys me books so I don't have any new ones.

also, stfu...with love.

Glad you're back! Sounds like a productive week. I need to take one of those...

Teebore - LMFAO! Touche, good sir.

Summer - mmmm good times. That picture i'm drawing? Yeah... it may be of said aforementioned character

Jules - mayhap. I'm toying with the idea of doing an "artsy" blogfest.

Hannah - fair enough. I mean, going to the library is way better than buying books. I'm just saying, you've got like a mini-library in your apartment.
also - RAGE HUG!

Alex - it was and you should! It totally recharges your battery

I'm really curious what the suggested changes were on Glimpse. You know the young beta reader and I thought is was great as is.

I just came back from a blogging hiatus too! Doesn't it feel good? Dude, the first two items on your list make me happy :) I loved Ship Breaker and Veronica Mars is freaking awesomesauce!

Welcome back :)

Welcome back! Seems to me you got a lot done.

Sarah Ahiers said...

Linda - no huge changes, just some developing of Pier's and Lani's relationship mostly.

Sara - It does feel great! And yes, i wish i had more of both right now

Talli - thanks and i did!

Holly - Thanks! it didn't seem like it at the time, but making a list does make it more impressive

Ref: Did I miss anything super exciting while I was away?

While you were away, zombies attacked, a few kittens were forced to wear funny clothes and they did indeed find life on Mars. Unfortunately, we no longer have the money to go there.

Oh, and today I announced a Query Workshop on my blog.

That's about it. Glad you're back.
