In Which The Year Ends

Well here we are! The last day of 2012.

The year went fast, as usual. Remember when you were a kid and summer vacation seemed to last forever? I kind of miss that sometimes.

How was your Christmas? Were there presents?

I get a lot of books. Because i ask for a lot of books. One of the most awesome feelings is getting a stack of books and wanting to read all of them right away because they're books you've been waiting for.

On my new stack of awesomeness:

The Lie That Binds - Lisa and Laura Roecker

A Million Suns - Beth Revis

The Passage - Justin Cronin

The Far West - Patricia C Wrede

Phoenix & Athyra - Steven Brust

The Drowned Cities - Paolo Bacigalupi

Did you get any new books for Christmas?

I didn't get a single book for christmas. I did, however, get a lot of clothes that didn't fit. With the result that I got a lot of refunds on boxing day and then thought to myself 'hideous jumper in the right size, or books?'. No contest.

I got a lot of books too--but I had to buy mine. :)

I got over $100 in iTunes gift cards, so many of those purchases will be books!
Happy reading and have a great New Year's Eve, Sarah.

No booksies, but I got a BN gift card to use. I did get a new journal though. It's so purdy. Also, the PS3...

I know what you mean about wanting to read all the books at once. If only you could do that!

I got two books for Christmas. Got gift cards, too (which was used to purchase more books), and a Nook (which I'll eventually read a book on, just don't know when).

I didn't get books for christmas, but I got something almost as good: cash. Which I spent at a book store within hours of the money touching my hands...

I did get books! I've read four just this weekend. I love the fact you liked my review on Goodreads. I think I write damned awesome reviews instead of the standard: "Oh this book was exciting. Oh I thought the writer wrote well." blah

I honestly wonder if some people have even read the books they are reviewing because their comments are sooo generic.

Nice haul! I got some fabulous books as well (a lot of romance authors I've never read but was curious about :)). Hope you have a great new year!

I actually got a decent stack of books this year (well, four, but they're all NF so they're thick) and about a hundred bucks in B&N GCs (though most of that will go to movies during the DVD sale this month).

I'm impressed that you appear to have gotten some older books (the Brust ones). If they're not available in a local B&N, I have little hope in getting them as a gift.

I also got a bitchin pair of Riddler Converse high tops, amongst other things.

Also, let me know how The Passage is. I've had that in my to read pile since I picked up a used copy after doing an event with the author at B&N.
