In Which I NaNo For 2014

So we're into October already, and you know what that means,

That's right. It's the ramp up to NaNoWriMo!

I missed last year (for legit reasons that ended with me landing an agent and a book deal) but I've been participating since 2009 and I'm giving it a shot again this year.

I'll be writing under my old username Falen1 and I'd love to be your friend (also, because seeing everyone's little word count meters fill up is hugely motivating for me. So yes, I want to be friends because it's fun, but also I want to be friends to help me hit my goals)

If you've never done NaNo before, you should give it a try! It's a lot of fun, and no one takes it too seriously, so even if you realize it's not for you or you can't hit the word count, or if you want to break the "rules" then that's okay!

So, are you going to NaNo this year?

You had a good excuse for missing last year.
Not participating this year, but I did write my second book during NaNo.

I ALWAYS NaNo! I think we are friends already, but I will verify. Twice a year I take my much desired chance to write a NEW first draft. I have so much to edit and KNOW I should concentrate on that, but I just LOVE the NEW!

I plan to NaNo, but yo know... life and stuff.

So I'm planning on finishing up the novel I started NaNoing last year, the one that fell prey to the shiny New Idea--I finished it, but I have yet to actually do anything with it(it's WAY outside my genre).

So yeah, this year, I'm thinking I'll go back and put together the rest of last year's NaNo (that's sort of like saying "Here SNI! Here I am, trying to be a good girl and finishing what I started! Come and find me if you can!"

Maybe? Is it online now? Like, I remember back in the day you were supposed to find REAL people in REAL life to work with, but I could do much better if it were online. The word count thing sounds amazing! Also, I could just write something totally shitty and not care since I don't have to turn it in.

Good luck Sarah. I'll not be participating because I have three or four short story starts I'd like to get completed by the end of the year.

I really need Nano too! I have been doing hours of promo stuff for my book launches and then teaching. NO time to write... but in NOV, I will make time.

I've never NaNoed, but I'm considering it this year. I have a MG that I want to write in Nov and Dec, so I might try to do half a NaNo. =D It always cracks me up to write about this, as someone reading this who has no idea what NaNo is would probably think I'm a bit nutty...

Added you! I planned to NaNo last year, but morning sickness... so the book I intended to write then will be written now. I won't hold myself to 50,000 words, but I will hold myself to daily writing.

Leandra, you should! even if you only complete a half-NaNo. :)
