In Which I Procrastinate

Things I did on Sunday to procrastinate from adding to my WIP:

1. planted new plants in a planter
2. re-potted my new cactus and another plant
3. weed-whacked the entire yard
4. laundry
5. grocery shopping.
6. did the dishes. Twice.
7. folded my clothes
8. baked a batch of cheddar bacon muffins for breakfast for the next three weeks
9. wrote this blogpost
10. read some online comics
11. watched parts of Troy and The Patriot on TV
12. mucked about on FB, Query Tracker and Query Tracker Forum
13. finally just got down to it.

How about you? What do you like to do to procrastinate from writing?

I am the queen of procrastination, however, I have actually been writing this last week. Hunt and peck mostly but I'm over 16k now so it's all good.

Hey, can you come and do my yard? I have a tractor and a push mower, I'll do the week wacking. That is really the one thing I procrastinate the most over. Hate it!

You can't file muffins under procrastination.

Though if you want to be absolved of your sin, you could always post the recipe. It sounds like something my husband would love.

Christ, even your procrastination is more productive than mine... :)

Weed whacking is not on my list! I write to procrastinate from doing yardwork.

Yeah, I tend to get more stuff done around the house when I procrastinate.

Wow, you've been busy! I tend to clean stuff - the floor, laundry... I don't even want to think about now or I'll start procrastinating!

But seriously i read like 5 hours of webcomics

Well, that makes me feel better at least...

Actually, I'm procrastinating right now lol ;) I keep checking my email and querytracker while in the background, I've my WIP opened up and waiting to be filled. Trying to write in it everyday, but I'm a rather slow writer sometimes. Still, no excuses!!! I will get at least this scene finished. I will! Probably. Maybe. Oh, heck, I've gotta get back to it or else I may just keep hanging out here on your blog :)
Good luck w/yours!

At least your procrastination methods are (mostly) productive. :) (makes procrastinating easier to justify, yes?)

Procrastination? I don't know what you're talking about. I am not reading blogs and playing on Facebook to avoid my writing. Never. Ever.

P.s. You just might want to check out my blog post. Not that I want to give you more reasons to procrastinate.....

I procrasting always takes forms in these ways:

reading
watching whatever tv series I'm in the middle of (Currently it's True Blood)

hanging out with friends

And since it's summer now, I can add hanging by the pool. Tomorrow is my day off and by golly I will make myself write! lol

If it wasn't for my WIP, none of the household chores would get done.

Wow you were really determined to procrastinate! But you had a rather productive day, otherwise :)

Teebore - it doens't make me feel better...

Ninja - oh man, QT is like my fav form of procrastination. I check that as often as i check my email

Lola - yeah, i mean, at least the plants are taken care of

Rebecca - Hah! And ZOOM!

Joy - yeah i probably should have read my book instead of webcomics. And yet...

Devin - yeah that sucks when you're just too busy

Clutz - so true. So true.

Elle - yes i was. I was just not feeling it

Reading blogs!
Does that mean I should stop coming here?

Hmmm, I can give you a list of things I did to make me keep going through crap and dumping stuff outside for scavengers. Actually, it's not much of a list.

1. watch movies
2. watch TV shows
3. drink tea (in the am)
4. drink beer (in the pm)

That's about it. I can clean anything and everything as long as the TV or stereo is on.

I love that motivation poster.

This weekend I watched the Red Sox and the Bruins and attempted to help a friend find a wedding dress. All in all, a very unproductive writing weekend.

Sarah Ahiers said...

Kittie - i like to sweep floors

Al - hah! And yeah, blog reading is definitely on my list

Hannah - so true. Cleaning is always easier with good tv. Or bad tv, depending

MJ - ooh a wedding dress! It may not have been writing but that was def important!

I love that picture. It sums up my life sometimes.

Cheddar bacon muffins????!! I need some of those bad boys.

And this is quite fitting that I should read this today, since it's 3pm and I've been procrastinating all day... Going to the library, cleaning my room, staring at my floor, watching the BBC version of Robin Hood (which is AMAZING), and the list continues. Like being on here right this moment. Ah well.

Just this past week, I've procrastinated on my writing (and on visiting blogs, which is why I haven't been here in a while) by watching two movies, four television shows, building a couple raised bed gardens, staining a couple Adirondack chairs, putting together a patio set, walking the dog, lazing around with my cats, finishing two (nearly three) books, cleaning up cat puke thrice, mowing the lawn, and doing far too much work at work. Finally, I figured it was time I took a break from my procrastination, so here I am.
