In Which Pinterest Helps Me Prepare

So, as mentioned before, I love me some Pinterest. I have a whole inspiration board, but then Twin was all "why don't you break out your NaNo 2011 stuff and make a separate board for it?".
And, after I told her to shut her face, I realized that was a pretty good idea.

So! Here is the link to my 2011 NaNo inspiration board!

I'm totally loving it. Especially since I don't have a NaNo soundtrack for this year (and probably won't have time (or really the energy) to make one)

Seriously, the NaNo pinbaord is possibly one of the best things Twin I have ever come up with.

What about you? Do you have a NaNo pinboard? Or, if you're not on Pinterest, do you have a folder or file where you keep inspiration for your current MS?

Sometimes as I scan for models and settings for book covers it gives me inspiration for future books.

This is the best idea Twin...er, I mean, you has ever had. ;-)

Oh, great images! makes me want to read your story already. Fantasy, yes?

I'm not all that visual on my own stuff, so I've never really done that... songs either. Am I a one-track pony? I think I may be. I AM making a map. (I luuuurves some maps) and I have some plot details... a list of dead people...erm...)

Where is that seacoast? It reminds me of Corsica. Love the ladies in costume! You are such a wiz with all this, it leaves me breathless.

I joined Pinterest but I never knew what to do with it. what a great idea to use it for an inspiration board for writing. I now have a few uses for the format.
Thanks for sharing and your images are quite intriguing. I can't wait to see how your NaNo novel will turn out.

EEEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OHMYGOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in love with those images over at your board!
i should totally do that!

right now, i'm just pasting image after image into different files (printing out some pages) of character, location, culture inspiration.

i've never really tried to seriously plot before, but this image collaging is really helping me ACTUALLY plot!

oh MAN!
i hope i can find the time to do this... otherwise, i'll just keep with my manilla folders and files! :)
I SO WANT TO READ YOUR UNWRITTEN NANO STORY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've always been fascinated by plague masks! there's something about the line of them! and masks freak me out nearly as much as clowns! and i love those scrolly balconies and the lovely beautiful setting juxtaposed to the beautifully masked characters!!! it's so freaky in a beautiful way, which is like my favorite kind of spooky ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oooooooohhhhh!!!!!!
SARaH!!!
YAYYYY!

YOU ARE SO GOING TO KICK NANO'S ASS!

It seems like just yesterday I read your post about the NaNo cover for Glimpse.

Where does the time go?

Yeah! You tell that twin!

You know I do.

I haven't had time to make a soundtrack either. *sigh* Sheesh, we're slackers this year. (if you do start making a playlist/soundtrack and come across any songs that'd work for me and my WiP, lemme know, K?)

I wish nano would have our buddy lists ready! Grrr.

Oh, man. I'm not *nearly* as prepared as I want to be. I have lofty goals to figure out my synopsis, primary character arcs, and chapter summaries at my writing group tonight. Unfortunately, we write for approx 30 minutes before the wine kicks in and we start jabbering.

All this to say heck no, I don't have a vision collage OR a playlist going. And I'm getting SUPER nervous...

I'm not nearly that organized. I do have a book with ideas written thought out it.

I'm not that organized either. My notebook are lined with ideas--literally going up, down, diagonally, every which way except on the lines lol--but I've heard a lot about pinterest lately. Actually, this is really dumb, but I used to think using pictures was cheating. Yes, I know, dumb, dumb, dumb. I don't know why I ever thought that. Didn't stop me from modeling my first ms's bad guy after Richard Artmitage, though lol!!
Hope you're doing well Falen, and I hope NaNo turns up great things for you,
Ninja Girl

Love the pics! I change my desktop background to a picture that lives out the theme of the story I'm currently writing.

I rarely use images - for me, music works best.

I'm hearing more and more about Pinterest - I'll have to check it out. If it allows me to put up stuff for inspiration purposes, I'm there!

I am a new follower of your blog and I love it. I have been scrolling around and I had to finally make myself stop. I was becoming completely engrossed. How did I not know of you before? I am so glad that I found you.

I recently discovered Pinterest, or actually my 13 year old daughter put the app on my phone. I thought it was cool, but your unique use for it is a great idea.

I am very pleased to meet you.

I've never heard of Pinterest! These images are gorgeous and mysterious. They make me think of an epic Renaissance romance!

These pictures rock. I clicked on over to your Pinterest page and fell in love with the inspiration (I've been to the one in Ithaca, NY) and things you love collections. Wow, I had no idea all these amazing images were out there.
