In Which We Have An Update

So we're a little past mid month which means NaNo is halfway over!

How's it going for everyone else? Are you behind? Ahead? Tell me all about it. I want deets on how NaNo is treating you this year.

I'm ahead by a few days. I wish I was ahead even more than that so I could really slack for Thanksgiving, but I'm not quite there yet. Still maybe I could do something like hard work, and get even farther ahead.

But hard work is hard, and I'd rather be lazy.

Have you been keeping up with the 30 covers in 30 days project on the NaNo blog? If not, you should check it out because there have been some AWESOME COVERS! For reals.

Just a short post today, so here's an LOLCat to zazz things up a bit.

Heheh. I've always like that LOLcats picture. But I feel sorry for the one in the back.

Yesterday was like pulling teeth to write, though I still managed a few thousand words, somehow. Hopefully today I'm more on board...

I have cuteness envy, among others (cleverness envy, intellect envy, motivation envy, skinniness envy) all the time. Poor kitty...I feel you.

I was behind, but now I'm ahead. We shall see how long that lasts. ;) Because, dude, hard work IS hard. I'd rather be lazy, too. :)

No, I haven't checked out the cover things...I didn't even know about them. I only go on the site to update my word count. If I can force myself to push through to 50 ahead of schedule, perhaps I'll check it out.

I hope your badass sea monster is still kicking ass. :)

Love,
Lola

Man, I'm glad I'm not doing NaNo this year. I'd be doing pretty terribly! :P

Very cute kitties!

Haven't heard of this cover project... *leans in, takes a peek*

I'm right on track. But, with a week of company next week, well...not sure I'll make it at all. Which probably means I should be writing now instead of trolling the net. Hmm...

Man, your lazy and my lazy are WILDLY different.

The last couple weeks, life has been poking me with a stick like I'm some kind of bear it's trying to antagonize, so I'm woefully behind.

Tonight we're going to change things up and write at home instead of work and see if I can get more done that way.

Hopefully, I can get caught up this weekend. But that's what I said last weekend, and look how that turned out...

Summer - i hear you. Pretty much every day this NaNo is like pulling teeth. i don't know why

Lola - I saw your wordcount spike and was immediately filled with jealousy

Matthew - it's where 30 graphic designers each pick a story from amongst all the NaNo synopses listed on the site and then make book covers for the novels. They're listed on the Office of Letters and Light blog

Carolina - awww, i'm sure you'd do awesome because you ARE awesome!

Tara - Hah! I hear that! I started out today telling myself that i was going to write a lot, and yet, here we are...

Teebore - well those 1600 words aret taking me forever as opposed to the usual 30-60 minutes. And the weekends have been damn disappointing so far this year

Yay for you being a bit ahead. I've fell a bit behind, but I'm still writing. In between editing, plotting and life it's been chaos. Next year I'm planning my time better. lol.

I have 1100 to write today to reach today's nano word count goal although I would like to try to reach 30k by the end of today. I also came up with 30 ideas for PiBo so that's awesome!

I took care of word production by not doing NaNo ... but then, I'm deep in the middle of revising/editing two books with two more in line. But I admire all who can stay the course.

And I'm reading and commenting on blogs?

Ha! Love the lolcat! And congrats for being ahead! I'm not NaNo-ing, but I'm trying to cheer everyone on. *shakes pom poms* :)

What is the 30 covers in 30 days project? What they want more than 50k words! Bloodsuckers.

Haven't had time to check out the covers. I've been on target most days, but would like to get ahead and stay there for a while!

I was WAY ahead and then had a hella weekend. I am still a little ahead, but not by as much as I was. My GOAL is by the 20th to have my required word count down to 1000 a day to finish, which means by Saturday I need to write almost 5,000--totally doable except for the giant Harry Potter shaped obstacle in the middle of it. HOWEVER, i took Friday off work, so I probably can.

I'm not doing NaNo this year. Trying to get my revisions done!

How YOU doin'?

Love the LOLCat, as usual! And well done for being ahead of the curve for NaNo - that's fantastic.

@ Nicole- what's PiBo?

Sarah Ahiers said...

Lindsay - i think i'm a bit slower this year because i'm editing as i go

Nicole - yes, pray tell, what is PiBo?

Kay - that makes sense. I finished up line edits on Foxfire right before NaNo so i felt OK letting it sit

Shannon - awww thanks for the encouragement!

Holly - Hah! I've decided i'll do a whole post about it on monday since it seems many peeps are in the dark

Alex - i'm not going to lie, being ahead is pretty awesome

Hart - yeah i saw that i had creeped up on you a bit. And HP is GOING TO ROCK!

Shannon - Hah! aww now i miss friends. I'm doing OK. Got in over 3K yesterday which helps

Talli - thanks pal!

Anne - that's what i want to know!

Kitteh!

Yes. When it comes to NaNo I have pretty much Failed this time around. I have been dancing around three different ideas and not really Writing much at ALL. It's a little bit pathetic, but I'm using the excuse that I finished writing a novel in October.

I'm glad everything has been going along well with your novel. that is super exciting! :)
