In Which I Give Away Free Books

So I bought a new bookshelf at Ikea and organized some of my books. I sold a few bags to Half-Price Books, but I kept out any that were writing related to offer up as prizes to blog readers.

Yeah, that's right, today's post is a drawing for free stuff!

Boosh!

I'm offering two prize packs.

Prize pack 1 includes:

Walking On Alligators: A book of meditations for writers
Word Painting: A guide to writing more descriptively
A blank journal, unlined.

Prize Pack 2 includes:

Chicken Soup for the Writer's Soul
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Romance Writing
A blank journal, unlined.

As stated, these are used books, but they are in very good condition and in the case of the journals, they're brand new, they've just been sitting on my bookshelves.

What do you have to do to win one of these prize packs?

Fill out the form! It's super simple.

You can enter through Jan 31st and I'll post the winners on Feb 2nd.

Easy peasy.

Nice! This reminds me, good lady, I have a few more books I have to get off my bookshelf as well. Time for another contest chez moi? :D

Cheers!

I have so many books I'm getting rid of it would take like every blogger on here to have a giveaway to cover it. Sigh. I just really hate mailing things. I mean, really.

Okay, first, I love Walking on Alligators and why are you getting rid of it?!

Second, an UNLINED journal?? Is this the dark ages?? WTH?

Third, my head hurts but I love this idea. I may steal it.

The End.

Epilogue:

I entered the giveaway but don't mail me anything if I win. You know where I live.

free books!?!?! you've found the key to my heart!!! :)
:P have a nice day!

I would enter, but Evan might disown me. I'll just settle for telling whoever wins congrats...

I did a bookshelf purge recently and scored another 50 bucks in points at the used bookstore. It's awesome. Then I used it to buy more books. Whoops!

I would enter, but I think my floor will collapse if I put anymore books in it. And I live in the basement.

But what a great idea! Hope the winners enjoy!

New bookshelves, that's what I need. Especially if I win prize pack 1, lol! This is such a good idea for getting rid of books you don't want.

I love the idea of giving away your books to blog readers. I will enter the contest!

Oooh! I love writing books. Actually, it's kind of an addiction. Since I entered the drawing does that make you an enabler?

Simon - and even though i'm giving away books to make space for me, i will totally enter any contest that has books for prizes. Cleary something doesn't add up

Hannah - eh, it's just not the type of writing book i enjoy reading. And i can't remember where the journals came from, though i know we got them for free. And i DO know where you live. Yes i do...

Jessica - Yay! I'm glad to hear it!

Aspiring - free books are so awesome. And tempting. Little harlots...

Summer - i didn't even look at books while i was at the store, because i knew i'd find something i wanted. Instead i used the points to buy Toy Story 3 on Blue Ray. I can't believe someone sold that

Rebecca - i'm creeped out by the idea of your basement collapsing. What's under it? A hole? I wrote a horror story about holes and now i don't trust them. Ever.

Laura - i just figured, why sell them if some of my pals would enjoy them?

Heather - i think more people should do it. I mean, i'm pretty sure we all have too many books

Janel - yes. Yes it does. And OMG, i LOVE writing books too! I have shelves and shelves of them, and i've probably read less than 25% of them

I'm thinking about doing something similar. I've got SO many books hanging about and no place to store them, so I might have a giveaway soon too. Great minds! :)

Matthew MacNish said...

I've got too many books, and way too many books on writing, but good luck to all who enter!

Sarah Ahiers said...

Talli - this way i know whoever gets them actually wants them

Matt - we all have too many books. It's a serious problem

That's really awesome of you!
And you really should join the fun of the A-Z Challenge. It's easier than it seems!

Wow. That's a great contest. Good luck to all who enter.

What a great idea! I've give away fiction books, but never considered giving away nonfiction.

Alas, I have at least half these books.

I'll give your contest a plug on Friday.

Yay books! Thanks for hosting a great contest!

Sarah Ahiers said...

Alex - i'll think on it. I've till april to make up my mind, i suppose

Lindsay - just trying to share the wealth

Mara - thanks! I'll check it out right now

Maria - awww thanks! And sorry, i figured there'd be some overlap for some people

Lindsey - any time!

HA! Fun stuff! I love this idea of giving away our gently used stuff... Hubby will like it too... I definitely will use this at some point...

Austin Gorton said...

Good idea for a contest. If I had elventy billion followers like you and Hannah I might get rid of some books the same way.

I didn't enter, not because I don't like you but because the last thing I need is more books (and I have a couple you're giving away anyway, and don't want the romance one or Chicken Soup...).

So many books, so little time!

I swear, every time I come here I fall in love with Yvie a little more. How darn cute is she?!

Unknown said...

How wonderful and generous to share the wealth and spread some writerly joy! Thanks for being awesome you!

Sarah Ahiers said...

Hart - soon, the blogosphere will just be full of books that we keep circling amongst ourselves

Teebore - 291, elventybillion - yeah that's a close comparison. I don't know how you fit any books in your home with all those comics

Tara - well, admitedly i am a bit biased, but i would say she's buckin cute.

Nicole - awww thanks! Just sharing the love

Austin Gorton said...

@Falen: I don't know how you fit any books in your home with all those comics

And vice versa.

Neither do I...
