In Which I Receive Books

So I had been hoarding a various assortment of gift cards I had won on different blogs in contests. Once I got them all together I went on a bit of a book splurge online.

Know what's awesome? Getting books in the mail, is what.

Here are the books that came all pretty and shiny and new.

I've added them to my pile of books TBR on my nightstand. Said pile still contains at least one book from X-Mas, not to mention a few specific books that came to me in the mail after winning a few other blog contests.

I have to say, blog contests may be the best thing ever invented.

Speaking of which - I've reached the amazing amount of 100 followers. CRAZY!

Next week (Monday) I will post about my first ever writing contest! Get your pens ready.

I can promise you one thing about that contest, the prizes will be Many and AWESOME!

Yvie will be in tomorrow for the usual Friday Fun Words. See you there!

PS: Check out Palindrome's blog post relating to frequent (and briefly missing) commenter Joan Crawford. HILARIOUS

PPS: Dear spell check - when I write "hte" please know that what I really mean is "the". It would really help if you could correct that. kai thx? bye

Nice pile o'books. *looks around for eavesdroppers* I still haven't read The Hunger Games. *Cringe* Probably won't until Mocking Jay comes out.

My pen is sharpened, and so is my keyboard (don't ask how.)

Congrats on 100. Just promise me you won't forget about your "first" followers when you get to be rich and famous.

And you have such amazing ideas...who'd have ever thought you could buy books online with gift cards. I really have to get into the 21st century.

Ooo, those are some good ones! I really want a copy of Incarceron - it's toward the top of my wishlist. :-)

Summer - and i thought i was late to the HG train. Honestly, waiting is probably a good idea. It comes out in august anyway

Christine - yeah i made a dent on my list, but every day i add more...

Nicole - thanks! Catching Fire was awesome, btw

Piedmont - ooh getting rich would be awesome! But i'm a bit ambivalent on the fame thing. Mostly i just want friends. And i'm loyal and don't forget ;-)

Shannon - it's so pretty! It's the next book i'm going to read when i finish the one i'm on

I haven't read Hunger Games either. I didn't even realize I was missing out on something by having not read it.

Let me know what you think of Games of Thrones. In the interest of reading more traditional fantasy I picked it up but it's been sitting on my TBR pile for a bit now.

Dude, I so want Incarceron! You'll have to let me know if it's good!

Teebore - yeah me too, but since i read a lot of YA blogs, i've been let in the loop.
The reason i picked up Game of Thrones is that it is going to be an HBO series with the lovely Sean Bean, so i thought i'd better get on that

Elana - i will! It's so pretty, i can't wait to read it

I just got Incarceron from the library! Yay books!!

I LOVE getting books in the mail even more than movies in the mail and I really love getting movies so you can, you know, see how much I like love books and stuff.

I will eventually read Hunger Games...so many books.

You crazy contest winner!!

I'm gonna write something completely ridiculous for your contest or just what I normally write...murder and violence.

Hey! Is that me down there?! Yay! Thanks for the shout-out!!

I really need to go to bed before I start drooling on the computer.

@Summer- sharpening your keyboard?! LOL! LOVE IT!

Yeah! For books! I am such a book fiend. You must definitely read Hunger Games and Catching Fire NOW. They are amazing. Every time I go to reread them I wait to be disappointed and then I'm not! (I've read them 3 times now - something I don't usually do in such a short amount of time).

And I got the ARC of Incarceron, but it's still on my tbr pile. Which is starting to take over my room. Too many books, too little time.

Sarahjayne - i'm excited for the contest too!

Palindrome - well you know how pro-violence i am. I picked like 6 prompts, so hopefully you'll be able to find something to violent up

Sonshine - shh, don't tell anyone but i actually finished both hunger games and catching fire before this post published. I will have another blog post about them next week
